Job Description: This position is responsible for all aspects of humanly raising and caring for the Smart Chicken® livestock.
· Read water meters
· Pick up daily mortality
· Check for proper equipment operations
· Ensure birds have water and feed
· Ensure all equipment is functional
· Prepare houses for new chick arrival & placement of new chicks
· Prepare houses for bird load-out and reconditioning
· Master and practice essential farm animal husbandry
· Outdoor duties include mowing, and grass trimming, snow removal
· Adhere to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulations
· Other duties as assigned
· Requirements: Ability to work and operate equipment safely and effectively
· Ability to use time wisely while working independently
· Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals
· Good observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideas
· Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergencies as required
· Must be willing to adhere to and support all company policies, programs, guidelines, and standards of conduct.
External Requirement Farm Worker Operator: 6 months of production or farm experience preferred.
