Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS), located in Malden, MA, was founded in 1998 and proudly serves more than 1,700 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12.

Students in Grades K–12 attend school in dress code for 200 instructional days annually. The school day is also 60 minutes longer than that of most traditional public schools, enabling us to provide every student with the opportunity to obtain a world-class education.
The Latin Teacher is responsible for delivering Mystic Valley’s Latin program for students in Grades 7–12. Instruction follows the Core Knowledge curriculum and teaching methodology. At the high school level, MVRCS offers the rigorous, internationally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and upper-level language assignments may include IB coursework.
Implement the curriculum as outlined in the Core Knowledge and, when applicable, IB frameworks.
Teach five subject-area classes that meet daily.
Deliver clear, well-structured lessons based on measurable learning objectives.
Assess student learning regularly and complete required progress reports and report cards.
Collaborate weekly with colleagues in the Languages Department, including the Department Chair, on curriculum, instruction, assessment, data analysis, and teaching methodology.
Implement the school’s assertive discipline model with fidelity to ensure a structured and positive learning environment.
Attend all staff meetings and participate fully in professional development programs.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Languages Department Chair, Assistant Director, Assistant Superintendent, and/or Superintendent/Director.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to prepare reports and professional correspondence.
Ability to evaluate information and recommend appropriate actions.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Ability to perform duties in compliance with all school requirements, state and federal laws, and MVRCS policies.
Experience evaluating student skills and preparing written summaries or findings.
Strong collaborative, teaching, coaching, and leadership skills to support student learning and team initiatives.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Knowledge of subject-area content and relevant laws, regulations, and educational procedures.
Ability to plan and deliver lessons aligned with school objectives and diverse student needs.
This position reports to the Languages Department Chair. It is an annual appointment and is evaluated on a yearly basis.
