The Opportunity

Lesley University’s Graduate Department of Counseling & Psychology is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: GCOUN 6101, Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods. January 30-February 2 and February 27-March 1, 2026. Fully in-person, on-campus.

Course Description:

Students will explore the purposes, concepts, and methodologies of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research. They will develop the skills to critically evaluate and critique research literature and apply research findings to clinical practice with individuals, schools, and communities. Ethical, cultural, and social justice considerations are integrated throughout the course, alongside an examination of the theoretical and philosophical foundations of research methods, including Evidence-Based Practice.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field (required); Terminal degree (preferred)

  • Demonstrated successful experience teaching in the particular discipline at the graduate level is (preferred)

  • Prior clinical work experience is (preferred)

  • License in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or relevant field (preferred)

  • A commitment to integrating social justice practices into the curriculum
