ABOUT US:

New York Edge is the largest provider of after school and summer camp programs in New York City public schools. Each year, programs in academics--including STEM, the arts, sports & wellness, and college access help 40,000 students develop leadership skills and succeed in school. SUMMARY:

New York Edge seeks a dynamic, motivated and highly organized individual to fill the role of Program Department Administrative Assistant. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support in the management of the daily operations of New York Edge After Schools and Summer Camps.

Schedule:

Part-Time In Person

Monday - Friday

2pm - 6pm

Up to 25 hours per week

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administration for S&S and Staples Accounts

  • Manage Bus Requests for sites

  • Placing orders for Dominos and Panera

  • Communicate with food vendors to receive quotes for food orders

  • Work with Borough Director on projects and initiatives

  • Create and Maintain tracking material as requested

  • Support sites on need basis in collaboration with the Borough Director

  • Monitor and update calendar invites for important meetings, events, and reminders

  • Support Borough Director and Program Managers on large scale administrative projects

  • Maintain communication with Program Department and other support staff and Departments on a regular basis

  • Track data and spending for Division

  • Represent Borough Director in Meetings as needed

  • Cross collaborate on initiatives in other departments that support and strengthen the division and organization

  • Other Duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrate ability to take initiative, work well under pressure and multi-task in a high demand and fast paced environment.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders.

High attention to detail, responsible, and flexible demeanor.

Computer proficiency.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

Occasional late evening and Saturday work schedule

Knowledge of New York City after school and summer camp programmatic components preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree in business administration or a related field.

Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

At least three years of relevant administrative experience.

Excellent written and personal communication skills, including strong grammar and editing skills

Excel, Word, Power Point, Google Docs, creating graphs and other presentation documents

A goal-oriented focus and a strong commitment to meeting competing deadlines

A positive, enthusiastic, and creative approach to problem-solving
