Description


Summary:

The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach reports directly to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and coordinates and implements all necessary aspects of the Strength Program within the guidelines of the Athletic Department, the University and NCAA rules.

Examples of Duties


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and teach the fundamental skills of strength and conditioning.
  • Assist with developing strength programs for all sports.
  • Assist with the implementation of strength program for football through coordination with Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
  • Implement necessary safety measures in weight room while conducting strength and conditioning programs.
  • Assist with setting weight room schedule for various teams.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications


Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student-athletes academically and athletically.

  • Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) as well as Ellucian Banner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public.
  • Ability to maintain files accurately, in paper and in software programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively supervise personnel and complete all associated personnel actions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to put safety of student-athletes as a first priority.
