We're looking for a highly motivated and skilled Associate Podcast Producer to join the dynamic and expanding Outkick. In this fast-paced role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the content of our daily and weekly podcasts, from conceptualization to final delivery. You'll play a crucial part in every stage of production, including identifying compelling topics, securing high-profile guests, refining scripts, and ensuring the highest quality audio and editorial standards. This role can be based out of our NY or TN Offices.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Podcast Production: Provide comprehensive support in producing engaging podcast segments. This includes coordinating with on-air talent, managing live remote broadcasts, and overseeing recording sessions to ensure seamless execution.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear, consistent, and proactive communication with all key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned on production schedules, content updates, and guest logistics.
Content Management & Updates: Swiftly update podcast content across various FOX News Media platforms as stories evolve and new information becomes available, ensuring our listeners always have access to the latest developments across all verticals internally.
Content Development & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with producers and hosts to research and develop compelling new stories, unique angles, and innovative content ideas that resonate with our audience across our audio and digital verticals.
Social Media Content Approval: Review and approve audio and video content specifically designed for our social media channels across multiple verticals, ensuring it aligns with brand guidelines and maximizes engagement.
Quality Control & Editorial Standards: Work in tandem with the producer to rigorously fact-check all copy, conduct thorough quality control checks on audio, and ensure all final products meet FOX News Audio's stringent editorial guidelines and CMS requirements.
Guest Booking & Research: Proactively identify, research, and book high-quality, topic-driven guests who can provide insightful commentary and enhance the overall value of our podcast discussions.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Audio Production Experience: 2-3 years demonstrated experience in editing all-news radio or producing engaging podcast programming, showcasing a strong understanding of audio storytelling.
Exceptional Writing & Copy-Editing Skills: Superior ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling narratives, along with meticulous copy-editing skills to ensure accuracy and journalistic integrity.
Digital Journalism & Social Media Acumen: Strong proficiency in digital journalism practices and a proven track record of leveraging social media effectively to promote content and engage with audiences.
Sound Decision-Making: The ability to make quick, informed, and accurate decisions, both during high-pressure breaking news situations and during routine production shifts.
Talent Interaction: Proven experience and comfort interacting professionally and effectively with high-profile talent and guests.
Guest Booking Expertise: A solid history of successfully booking high-quality guests who contribute significantly to content and audience engagement.
Collaborative & Positive Attitude: Excellent communication skills, a positive and proactive attitude, and a strong ability to work seamlessly as part of a collaborative team.
Innovative Thinking: A creative mindset with the ability to think "outside the box" to develop fresh ideas and unique approaches to podcast content.
News Consuming & Journalism Background: An avid consumption of news and current events, coupled with prior journalism experience, preferably within an audio newsroom environment.
Flexible Schedule: The ability to work within a 24/7 news operation, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and early mornings.
Editorial Structuring (as needed): This role may also involve assisting in the editorial structuring and flow of some of our podcast content, ensuring logical progression and compelling narratives.
Technical Software Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-standard newsroom and audio editing software such as ENCO, Premiere, and Adobe Audition. Understanding of podcast and digital data analytics and engagement strategies.
