Job Description

Fulcrum Construction, is a nationwide commercial construction company. Our home office is in Atlanta, with regional offices in Los Angeles, Portland, and San Antonio. We are currently seeking a  Project Accountant with at least two years of cost and/or construction accounting experience. This individual is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing payments to subcontractors with accurate job costing, and preparation of owner draws. In addition, the Project Accountant will work closely with Project Managers and Project Administrators.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in AR or AP cycle or construction accounting
  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge as demonstrated by a four-year degree in accounting/finance or relevant work experience
  • Ability to investigate, analyze, and solve accounting problems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to relay information to internal and external parties
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (mainly Outlook & Excel) required
  • Working knowledge of Timberline/Sage software is preferred but not required

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Audit and process invoices into the accounting system and run checks as needed
  • Ensure promptness of payments in accordance with contract terms
  • Request, verify and maintain appropriate documentation from vendors
  • Obtain and review subcontractor waivers required for billing
  • Generate and record AIA billings and provide them to project owners
  • Keep Project Managers and company management informed regarding any ongoing issues with vendors
  • Distribute job cost reports to internal personnel as needed
  • Enter job cost corrections as directed
  • Keep open payables current and balances substantiated
  • Assist with audits, filing, scanning, or other administrative tasks for the department
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
