Job Description
Overview:
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a highly organized and versatile Design Engineer to join its engineering department. This role involves executing design and technical documentation for custom products. The ideal candidate will ensure that all drawings and specifications align with client requirements, industry standards, and production capabilities to support efficient manufacturing and installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine product designs, addressing engineering and production requirements.
- Produce technical drawings and models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Review external drawings and highlight deviations from internal standards.
- Support the creation of mockups and prototypes from design concepts and architectural plans.
- Maintain and update specification sheets, sample libraries, internal documentation, and design guidelines.
- Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to research materials, fabrication techniques, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in design engineering within metal, wood, acrylic, or related product manufacturing.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (2–3 years minimum) and basic AutoCAD (2D editing and conversion).
- Background in millwork, cabinetry, furniture, or similar industries.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, or customer/vendor collaboration is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shift

- Must be able to commute to or relocate to Prince George, VA before starting
- Willingness to travel up to 25% is required
