About the Role
The Company is in search of a visionary and strategic Executive Director to lead its conservation efforts. The successful candidate will be a strong, people-centered leader with a passion for land conservation, capable of inspiring action and driving the organization's success. Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include overseeing all operations, from fundraising and development to community outreach, land conservation, and organizational administration. This role demands a dynamic communicator, a collaborative relationship-builder, and a results-driven decision-maker who can transform vision into impact. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Trustees, lead a dedicated team, and engage with donors, stakeholders, and the public to ensure the continued success of the organization's mission. The ideal Executive Director will have a proven track record in fundraising, be financially savvy, and possess excellent public speaking skills. They should be prepared to travel for various engagements and hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent work experience. A background in land trust work, real estate, nonprofit management, or conservation law is preferred, along with a leadership style that fosters innovation and strategic risk-taking. The role requires the ability to build and manage a budget, as well as experience in executive-level financial reporting and analysis. The Executive Director will also be responsible for mentoring and developing staff, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering collaborative relationships with conservation agencies and organizations.
