Job Description: Designing a better world is more than a career, its a calling. Join Coffman Engineers Seattle office as a Fire Protection Engineer dedicated to design excellence and client service. Responsibilities Provide consulting services for internal and external clients as a Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of five years of experience. Design fire protection systems including automatic suppression systems; fire detection, alarm and mass notification systems. Perform building and fire code analysis and interpretation; conduct egress analysis; analyze fire resistant construction and smoke control concepts. Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure clear communication and project success. Lead and manage internal teams to produce well-coordinated, high-quality design sets. Manage project profitability and maintain strong client relationships; conduct business development activities to create new opportunities. Perform research and documentation for internal and external distribution; develop project budgets and write proposals. Qualifications Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) required. Minimum five years of experience as a Fire Protection Engineer or equivalent role. Ability to perform analysis of existing fire protection systems and design new systems (suppression, detection, alarm, and mass notification). Experience in building and fire code analysis and interpretation. Strong communication skills; ability to manage multiple clients and projects. Ability to lead and manage internal teams; oversee coordination and high-quality design sets. Experience in project budgeting, proposals, and business development; participate in local and national trade organizations (e.g., SFPE, NFPA). Expected annual salary of $95,000 - $145,000+.
