Expert in motor control, encoder integration Real-time systems (RTOS/bare metal) Responsibilities : Implement precision motor control Interface with high-resolution encoders Develop camera synchronization firmware Create real-time data pipeline to GPU Build hardware abstraction layer Nice to Have : DoD/defense contracting experience C-UAS or surveillance system background Security clearance (any level) General Snippet We're embarking on an intense 60-day sprint to bring a cutting-edge optical detection system from concept to competition-ready prototype. This isn't your typical product development cycle - we're looking for exceptional engineers who thrive under pressure and can deliver the impossible. You'll be joining a small, elite team working 50-60 hour weeks (possibly more when critical milestones hit) to design, build, and demonstrate advanced counter-drone technology. This is a rare opportunity to have a massive impact on a product that will shape the future of airspace security. The Reality: The next 60 days will be all-consuming - expect 60-hour weeks minimum Some weeks may require more as deadlines approach After the competition, we'll shift to a sustainable pace - this sprint is temporary Post-competition, we'll build the company properly with work-life balance in mind What to Expect: Extremely fast-paced environment with daily milestones Hands-on work from day one - no lengthy onboarding Direct collaboration with all team members and founders Opportunity to own significant technical decisions Return to normal hours (40-50/week) after competition Potential for substantial growth as we scale In Person, Worcester MA We Need People Who: Can start immediately (within days, not weeks) Understand this is a sprint, not a marathon Can commit fully for 60 days, knowing it gets better Thrive in ambiguity and can make decisions with incomplete information Want to be part of something transformative from the ground floor Fair Warning: The next 60 days will test your limits.
