About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Computational Chemistry to spearhead its efforts in structure-based drug design, cheminformatics, and molecular modeling. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing scientific and strategic leadership in the computational chemistry function, developing and implementing computational strategies to accelerate small molecule discovery, and fostering close partnerships with medicinal chemistry, biology, and data science teams to ensure the success of the discovery pipeline. This role also involves overseeing and mentoring a team of computational chemists and modelers, as well as evaluating and integrating emerging tools and external collaborations. Applicants for the Head of Computational Chemistry position at the company should hold a PhD in computational chemistry, theoretical chemistry, or a related discipline, and have at least 8 years' of experience in drug discovery, with a focus on leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of applying computational methods to impact discovery programs and possess deep expertise in molecular modeling, structure-based drug design, and cheminformatics. The role requires a leader who can build and guide a talented team, drive strategic initiatives, and represent the function both internally and externally, including at scientific meetings. The Head of Computational Chemistry will play a pivotal role in advancing innovative therapeutic programs across multiple modalities and must be prepared to work in a highly collaborative and dynamic scientific environment.
