Job Title: Mental Health Assistant

Location: Atlanta, GA (with occasional travel to surrounding Georgia counties)
Employment Type: Part-Time (15–20 hours per week, evenings and weekends preferred)
Compensation: $20 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This position supports licensed providers in delivering high-quality patient care, with a focus on assessments, group sessions, and treatment planning. Ideal for candidates looking to make a meaningful impact while working flexible hours, this role combines both virtual and in-person responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist providers with patient assessments, psychotherapy, and psychoeducational sessions

  • Conduct initial patient evaluations to identify treatment priorities

  • Help develop and implement individualized treatment plans

  • Facilitate and support group therapy sessions, in-service trainings, and staff meetings

  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and treatment documentation

  • Uphold clinic policies, safety procedures, and quality standards

  • Liaise with patients, families, and external agencies for care coordination

  • Apply crisis intervention techniques when needed

  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment

  • Perform duties virtually and in person, with some local travel required

  • Participate in ongoing professional development through workshops and training

What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Certification: CMHT, CBHT, or MHTC required

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a mental health or related setting

  • Knowledge of patient care practices, crisis intervention, and confidentiality standards

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to support patients and teams

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as scheduled
