OFFSET PRINTING PRESS FEEDER

Department: Sheetfed Press

Location: Lakewood, WA

Position Status: Full Time, Hourly

Position Location: Onsite

Schedule: 6:00pm – 6:00am, Monday – Wednesday, alternating Thursdays

Salary: $19 - $24 Depending on Experience

ABOUT THE POSITION

This role is responsible for the accurate, safe, and efficient feeding of unprinted paper sheets into an offset printing press. The Press Feeder works closely with the Press Operator to ensure continuous operation of the press, maintaining proper alignment and flow of materials to avoid jams, misfeeds, or production delays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain the printing press in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all equipment specifications, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Stack and package printed materials onto pallets using various types of automated or semi-automated stacking equipment.
  • Assist with plate changes, including hanging new plates and removing or cleaning used ones.
  • Perform ink wash-ups to maintain print quality and prevent contamination.
  • Monitor ink levels during production and ensure they remain at or above half-capacity to avoid disruptions.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time, with or without notice.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Related Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing environment

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good attention to detail while multi-tasking
  • Able to collaborate effectively and support team goals
  • Reliable attendance

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent reaching/stretching, bending, twisting, pulling/pushing, and stooping as required to service the machine
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds
