Job Details

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Utah School of Medicine has several openings for Pediatric Intensivists in Billings, Montana. The Pediatric Intensivist will join the faculty in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Clinical responsibilities will include managing patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings, Montana, and covering pediatric ward patients during weekday hours. The role also involves sharing unrestricted nighttime call for pediatric intensive care patients. There is an opportunity to travel to Salt Lake City for 2-3 weeks to work in the PICU at Primary Children's Hospital (PCH), with services potentially provided via telemedicine. An academic appointment entails scholarly work outside of clinical duties, including education, research, administration, and advocacy.

The PICU at St. Vincent's Hospital serves a large geographic area, including Billings and surrounding communities across Montana and neighboring states. It is a 5-bed unit staffed with Board Certified critical care pediatricians, with an adjoining 11-bed pediatric ward staffed by pediatric hospitalists and community pediatricians. The clinical services provided include life-sustaining therapies such as mechanical ventilation and hemodynamic support.

Qualified candidates must be Board Certified/Board Qualified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Successful applicants will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine, on either a Clinical or Tenure track, at a level appropriate to their experience and qualifications.
