As a Pharmacy Intern, you will play a vital role in our pharmacy team, performing essential functions under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will:

• Engage in pharmacy operations: Assist with medication acquisition, distribution, and various routine pharmacy services.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals: Work alongside a dynamic team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Support training: Help onboard new employees and pharmacy learners, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Enhance safety and efficiency: Contribute to resolving drug-related issues and optimizing pharmacy workflows.
• Participate in quality initiatives: Ensure safe medication practices and accurate documentation.
• Drive innovation: Suggest improvements to workflows and seek opportunities for personal growth.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Education: Must be enrolled in an ACPE-accredited PharmD program and have completed the first semester of your first year (P1).
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • LPHT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech - State Registration (Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration) OR
  • RPI - Reg Pharmacy Intern - State Licensure (Pharmacy Intern Licensure)
• Skills:
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in English for safety and security-related tasks.
  • Ability to perform accurate dosage calculations.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy-related software and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.

Working Conditions

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will:

• Work Attire: Scrubs are required; business professional attire is also acceptable.
• On-Call Requirements: May be required to be on-call during emergencies.
• Travel: No travel required within or outside the Houston Metropolitan area.
