Overview:
The nurse diabetes educator/program coordinator is a health professional who is either registered or licensed by an appropriate accrediting body in her/his field. The coordinator is an experienced health care professional with a strong background in diabetes education. Certification by the Nation Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is desirable.
Qualifications:
Licensure: RN licensed in the state of practice.
Experience: 2-4 years current nursing experience with a strong background in diabetes education.
Preferred Education: BSN
Preferred Certifications: Certification by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is preferred.
