About the Team

Our Global Legal Compliance team provides key support for ByteDance's and TikTok’s innovative initiatives, products, and platforms worldwide. We enable our teams by offering legal and compliance guidance. We are seeking a highly experienced sanctions compliance counsel to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance global sanctions compliance programs, focusing on US and EU/UK laws.
• Advise stakeholders on sanctions-related issues, navigating complex geopolitical environments.
• Conduct legal risk assessments, identify gaps, and develop remediation strategies.
• Stay updated on sanctions law trends and regulatory regimes.
• Improve sanctions screening mechanisms and provide legal guidance.
• Support internal investigations related to compliance policies.
• Conduct compliance training in partnership with regional teams.

Qualifications

• Law degree and qualifications in a common law jurisdiction.
• Experience at an international law firm or in-house legal team, with sanctions expertise.
• Deep knowledge of sanctions and AML laws, with analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and high ethical standards.
• Leadership qualities and ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage heavy workloads.
• Proactive issue resolution and process improvement skills.
• Strong understanding of client needs and organizational objectives.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $213,000 - $376,200 annually, with potential bonuses and stock options. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and more. Benefits may vary by location.

Applicants in Los Angeles County will be considered in accordance with applicable laws, including the Fair Chance Ordinance and California Fair Chance Act.
