The Threat Protection Research Team is a global, multidisciplinary organization of engineers, data scientists, security researchers, and program managers. With trillions of signals from millions of endpoints, we have an unparalleled view of the threat landscape, enabling us to develop deep expertise in attacker techniques and leverage the latest technology to stop them. We are seeking a Senior Security Researcher with a deep security background to detect attacks on Azure. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the threat landscape, modern cloud architectures, and attack detection in large-scale, operational environments supporting millions of customers. Responsibilities Research and document the data center threat landscape, investigate telemetry data from Azure, analyze postmortem attacks, lead data-driven experiments, understand attacker tactics and techniques, and develop prevention strategies. Develop attack detections by coding, implementing, and guiding others, involving building big data cloud pipelines on technologies such as Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Factory. Use attack simulation frameworks to develop end-to-end campaigns for evaluating defenses. Threat hunting to discover advanced real-world attacks and design automated protection solutions. Collaborate with security researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to design and implement security solutions. Participate in planning to measure and improve threat metrics for Azure protection. Leverage product data from other teams to address key Azure security challenges.
