About the Role

The Company is in search of a Senior Vice President for State and Local Government Relations in New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing public policy and government relations priorities to enhance the company's public profile on policy issues. This role requires a strategic, collaborative, and creative individual with a proven track record in building coalitions and executing priorities. The SVP will work closely with the Public Policy and Government Affairs team to advance key public policy priorities, engage with policymakers, and manage the company's public policy engagement. Strong communication skills, the ability to distill complex information, and a background in both the public and private sectors, particularly with exposure to financial services issues, are essential. Applicants for the SVP position should have at least 10 years' of experience in state public policy, advocacy, or government relations, with a strong understanding of political dynamics and the ability to engage effectively with members of both political parties. The role demands a self-starter with a high level of creativity, curiosity, and the ability to adapt to fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate will have a background in leading and collaborating on policy issues across multiple stakeholders, as well as the ability to work independently and deliver results. Sound judgment, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities are also key attributes. The SVP will be expected to represent the company's Political Action Committee and to position the company and its executives as leaders on public policy priorities.
