Working closely with Product and Design teams, Engineering ensures the seamless delivery of performant, secure, and cost-effective software solutions.  The Engineering team is responsible for the foundational infrastructure, security, and reliability functions that support all PracticeTek products. This includes cloud architecture, observability, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements like HIPAA and PCI.  The Career Opportunity:  As a Senior DevOps Engineer in the Payments and Shared Services team, you’ll design and maintain the cloud infrastructure that underpins our new shared payments platform. You will leverage AWS cloud services and Kubernetes to ensure our microservices architecture is scalable, secure, and highly available for payment processing across all brands. This role provides the opportunity to work on a mission-critical system, implementing best practices in automation and compliance (PCI) to support seamless payment integrations and event-driven services at scale.  Areas of Accountability:    ~ Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for the shared payments platform, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient.  ~ Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters (and related tooling) to orchestrate .NET microservices for payment processing across development, staging, and production environments.  ~ Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (using tools such as AWS DevOps, Jenkins, etc.) for rapid and safe deployment of payment services.  ~ Ensure the infrastructure and deployment processes meet PCI compliance and security standards, including proper network segmentation, secrets management, and data encryption.  ~ Set up robust monitoring, logging, and alerting for the payment services (using AWS Monitor, ELK, or similar) to proactively detect issues and maintain high uptime.  ~ Collaborate with software engineers to optimize application performance and scalability (e.g., capacity planning, load testing, tuning) and to resolve infrastructure-related issues quickly.  ~ Architect and manage API gateways and messaging systems (event streams, queues) that support the platform’s API integrations and event-driven workflows.  ~ Document infrastructure configurations and DevOps processes, promoting Infrastructure-as-Code practices (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) and sharing knowledge within the team.  Competencies for Success ~5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar roles, managing cloud infrastructure at scale (strong experience with Microsoft AWS is highly preferred).  ~ Proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration, including hands-on experience deploying and managing containerized applications in production.  ~ Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts using modern tools (AWS DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).  ~ Deep understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM templates, or similar) and configuration management best practices.  ~ Strong knowledge of networking and security in cloud environments, with experience implementing compliance requirements (PCI, SOC2, or HIPAA) in infrastructure and deployment processes.  ~ Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS Monitor/App Insights, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK stack) and ability to set up comprehensive observability for microservices.  ~ Solid scripting/programming skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar) for automating tasks, managing infrastructure, and building tooling.  ~ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across the entire stack (containers, networking, databases, OS) to ensure system reliability and performance.  ~ Strong collaboration and communication abilities, capable of working closely with development and product teams to align infrastructure with application needs and clearly explain technical concepts.  ~ A proactive mindset focused on automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement of deployment processes and system reliability.    At PracticeTek we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors to determine our offers of employment.
