Confidential Position: Trade Compliance Manager – Customs
Location: Primarily Surprise, AZ (Hybrid flexibility with approval)
Travel: Occasional – sites
Overview:
Seeking a Entreprenurial-Minded Trade Compliance professional to manage U.S. import compliance and operations at our consulting firm. This role oversees customs brokerage, administration, and ensures FTZ and US regulations are aligned with clients. Ideal candidates bring direct experience with FTZ, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration in logistics and trade strategy.

Key Focus Areas:
Customs Compliance:
- Direct import clearance oversight and broker management
- HTS classification, origin/valuation review, and documentation accuracy
- Post-entry processes, bond monitoring, FTA application
Operations:
- Act as an Administrator, ensuring adherence to 19 CFR Part 146
- Manage ICRS, admissions, weekly entries, and reporting
- Coordinate with CBP, Port Directors, and Grantees; lead training
Trade Program Management:
- Maintain compliance policies, lead audits, and risk assessments
- Prepare for CBP reviews and inspections
- Analyze savings from duty deferral and lead internal process improvements
Cross-functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Legal, IT, and Procurement
- Support changes in trade flows and new product imports
- Drive cost and efficiency opportunities through strategies
Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- CCS, CZS preferred; Licensed Broker a plus
- 5+ years in customs, FTZ (Foreign Trade Zones), and import compliance
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Proficient with ACE, ABI, systems (e.g., Questaweb), ERP tools
- Analytical, detail-focused, effective communicator and trainer
- Experience leading compliance programs and presenting to leadership
Preferred:
- FTZ expansion/implementation experience
- Knowledge of Section 321, First Sale, reconciliation, and drawback
