Job Details

• Coordinates, implements and evaluates the organization's infection prevention and control program.
• Coordinates the development and evaluation of the organization's infection prevention and control strategies, policies, and planning.
• Collects and performs statistical analysis, interpretation and dissemination of healthcare associated infection data, including risk assessment, surveillance priorities, and outcomes analysis.
• Monitors local, state and federal regulations and ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies' standards and requirements.
• Assists with the development of Infection Prevention educational resources and initiatives.
• Monitors research and developments in the field of infection prevention and control to identify best practices.
• Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.
• Participates and attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
• Prepares periodic reports as requested.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Science, Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Epidemiology or other related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan (preferred).
• Certified Infection Control (CIC) certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare related experience.

Additional Details

• Membership in either APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) or SHEA (Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America).
