Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) Joint & Spine Center/Musculoskeletal provides specialized care using knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. Care is delivered based on The Christ Hospital (TCH) model of care, promoting ongoing partnerships with patients, families, and healthcare providers. The RN adheres to the American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Unit Description – Joint & Spine Center / Musculoskeletal 4-5

• 58-bed unit with all private rooms in the Joint and Spine Center (JSC), floors 4-5
• State-of-the-art technology: Navicare Nurse Call system, in-room computing, patient monitors, and secure text communication
• Specialized care for orthopedic/neurosurgical patients: total joint replacements, fracture repairs, spinal surgeries, craniotomies, and intracranial hemorrhage
• May also receive medical/surgical overflow patients
• Provides staff with a strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate culturally appropriate and age-specific patient care
• Provide patient/family education and maintain confidentiality
• Communicate effectively with peers and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain professional competence and participate in continuing professional growth
• Accept and implement changes in a culturally diverse environment

Requirements

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of acute Med-Surg experience within the last 5 years (required)
• Epic, MS neuro/ortho experience (preferred)

Education:

• Diploma of Nursing (required)
• BSN (preferred)

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact License (required)
• BLS – American Heart Association (required)
