Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour shifts with rotating schedule - primarily days (2 months days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 1 month nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
\n• Weekend requirements: 4 weekend shifts per schedule for days (Saturdays and Sundays), up to 5 weekend shifts per schedule for nights (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
\n• Holiday coverage required if contract period includes holidays
\n• Patient ratios vary from 1:1, 1:2, to 1:3 depending on ICU and stepdown patient mix
\n• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required
\n• Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
\n• 2 years of PICU experience required
\n• First-time travelers accepted
\n• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
\n• Required certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association only)
\n• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
\n• Care for pediatric patients ages 0-18 with medical and surgical diagnoses including respiratory compromise, trauma, post-operative patients, and neurology/neurosurgery cases
\n• Provide intensive care support including ventilatory and cardiac support, ECMO/CRRT, dialysis, and complex supportive therapies
\n• Work with interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy, pediatric dietitians, and pediatric pharmacists
\n• 12-hour orientation provided
\n• Hurricane season assignment to emergency response teams may be required (June through November)
\n• Complete approximately 4 hours of non-billable modules pre-start

This Level I Trauma Center and Magnet Hospital operates as a major teaching facility with 820 total staffed beds. The 28-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides intensive and intermediate care to children from across the state, serving as a quaternary referral facility for the region. The facility uses EPIC charting system and offers comprehensive pediatric services including separate cardiac ICU units, with the PICU handling overflow and serving as a combined step-down/ICU unit for complex pediatric cases.
