The ASPCA’s Community Medicine (CM) team provides expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people through our stationary and mobile veterinary clinics, serving the most underserved communities in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. We help pet owners overcome barriers to care, bringing quality services directly to the communities that need us most and partially or fully subsidizing the cost of basic and preventive care. CM treats people and pets with dignity and respect, assisting pet owners in making informed decisions about their pets’ health and wellbeing regardless of their financial circumstances. What You’ll Do: Oversee a fast-paced and dynamic nonprofit Community Veterinary Clinic (CVC). Enjoy a broad range of responsibilities: lead a happy, high-functioning team, ensure patients receive the highest-quality care, and deliver outstanding client experiences to maximize the CVC’s impact in the community. Veterinary clinic experience is beneficial but not required, as medical direction is provided by the Medical Director and Nursing Director. Responsibilities: Including but not limited to: People Leadership (50%) Lead a team of managers overseeing client experience, nursing/medical support, and veterinary medicine Support a culture of respect, teamwork, and professional growth Partner with regional management and talent acquisition teams Ensure high-quality onboarding, training, and development Maintain open communication and provide feedback Planning, Execution & Administration (50%) Deliver excellent client and patient care Improve operations and collaborate with other leaders Manage resources and finances effectively Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA and ASPCA guidelines Supervise contractors and coordinate repairs and maintenance Core Values: Commitment to animal welfare Ownership and responsibility Teamwork Innovation and impact Qualifications: Motivated leader with experience managing teams and operations Excellent communication skills Ability to build relationships and respond to priorities Experience in veterinary or animal welfare preferred Fear Free Shelter certification required within 60 days Education: High School Diploma required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred Work Experience: At least 5 years in relevant fields, with 3 years managing a veterinary environment preferred Experience managing staff and budgets Language: English required; bilingual skills a plus If interested but no current openings match, join our Talent Community to stay connected.
