About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President and Dean for the School of Theology to join its President’s Cabinet and share in the governance of the institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the educational life of the School, including the development and support of education programs, curriculum design, and the assessment of educational effectiveness. This role also involves managing the School of Theology budget, overseeing the students' educational experience, and maintaining accreditation with relevant bodies. The Vice President and Dean will be expected to teach at least one course per academic year and provide theological and missiological leadership. Collaboration with the President and Provost is essential, particularly in preparing for accreditation activities and required reports. Applicants for the Vice President and Dean position should have a terminal doctoral degree in Theological or Religious Studies, a minimum of 5 years leadership experience, and a demonstrated record of effective teaching. A strong commitment to Moravian theology and values is preferred, and the candidate should have a history of involvement in the life of the church. The role requires a leader with a collaborative style, agility in the face of change, and a dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will be skilled in communication, leadership, organization, and financial management, and will be adept at building consensus and advocating for the success of students, faculty, and staff.
