Job Description

Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the baseball industry, beginning with Summer Collegiate Baseball. We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary. Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary. The Rafters are a part of the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate league located in the midwest. Each summer the Rafters host 36 games at Historic Witter Field and bring in over 35,000 fans through the gates.


Position Overview:

Are you passionate about baseball and video production? Join our team as a Baseball Video Production Intern and gain hands-on experience in creating compelling video content for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our video production team, capturing game action, behind-the-scenes moments, and creating engaging video content that brings the excitement of the sport to our fans. This is no lazy summer internship! It is however, very rewarding and very memorable!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Videography: Film and produce video packages for in house and social media use.

2. Video Editing: Collaborate with the team to edit and enhance video content, creating captivating and dynamic video pieces.

3. Content Creation: Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative and creative video concepts for social media, websites, and stadium displays.

4. Broadcast Producer: Run the broadcast PC during all Rafter home games which includes:

5. Graphics and Animation: Contribute to the integration of graphics during live broadcast

6. Commercials: Set up and run commercial breaks during live broadcast.

7. Highlights: Clip and upload highlights during live broadcast.

8. Equipment Management: Assist in setting up and maintaining video equipment, ensuring all gear is ready for use during games and events.

9. Content Organization: Help organize and manage video files, ensuring they are easily accessible for the production team.

10. Video Analytics: Analyze video performance metrics and viewer engagement to gain insights into audience preferences and content effectiveness.

11. Special Projects: Support the video production team in various special projects and initiatives as needed.

12. This is not an all-inclusive list and you will be assigned additional team duties to ensure a positive fan experience, facilities cleanliness, and everyone's safety.

Requirements:

Video Production Interest: A genuine interest in video production and a passion for baseball.

Technical Proficiency: Basic knowledge of video recording equipment and video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.).

Creativity: A creative mindset with the ability to contribute innovative ideas to video projects.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality video content.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from supervisors.

Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to various tasks and projects as needed in a fast-paced sports environment.

Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Baseball Knowledge: Basic understanding of baseball rules, terminology, and game dynamics.

Educational Background:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Broadcasting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Duration & Compensation:

This is a 3 month (Mid-May through Mid-August) summer internship position. Compensation and academic credit options can be discussed during the interview process.
