Job Description

STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Buyer in Ridgeland, South Carolina. In this role, you will take ownership of key procurement functions that drive efficiency across our manufacturing operations. Your focus will be on sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating contracts for materials, components, and services essential to production. We are looking for someone who brings deep experience in supply chain strategy, vendor management, and cost control. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies that drive cost savings and operational improvements Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on performance, reliability, and value Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements that meet production and quality targets Collaborate with inventory and production teams to ensure continuity of supply and accurate material forecasting Track supplier performance and work closely with vendors on continuous improvement efforts Monitor and mitigate supply chain risks to minimize disruptions Analyze procurement data and KPIs to support reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor relationships, and contract negotiation Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Excellent analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment Working Conditions Primarily office-based with occasional work in warehouse settings PPE is required only when on the production or warehouse floor Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, talk, and hear regularly Frequent use of hands, arms, and ability to reach, handle, or feel objects Why STS Technical Services STS Technical Services offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance 401(k) with company match Paid vacation and holidays Opportunities for professional growth and advancement About STS Technical Services STS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with some of the largest names in the aerospace, manufacturing, industrial, and defense industries.
