The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician - Psychiatrist -Mental Health Inpatient/Consultation Liaison, board certified or board eligible, to join our expanding clinical practice. We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.

Candidate must possess MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.

Additional requirements:

• Evaluate and manage patients admitted to mental health inpatient service.
• Provide coverage to evaluate and manage mental health Veterans in the Emergency Department, and consultation liaison service as needed.
• Consultative evaluations, and if necessary, basic medical assessment of psychiatric patients.
• Provide clinical consultation to various disciplines and levels of training including Nurse Practitioners, Physician assistants, Medical Residents and staff.
• Write prescriptions for medications, including controlled medications.

Highlights of this opportunity:

• Potential starting base salary range: $270,000-$325,000
• Daily schedule: Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30 pm -- Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Night/Weekend/Holiday on-call by rotation
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
• No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

$270000.00 / Annually - $325000.00 / Annually
