Purpose

Supervision of company drivers with a focus on safety and continuous improvement as well as oversees compliance of government requirements in relation to company transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Company driver safety training and audits
  • Supervision of company drivers; including training and performance management
  • Ensures all company drivers files are maintained
  • Complete performance reviews of fleet drivers and determine areas of development of training
  • Assists with special projects and operational coverage
  • Oversees the compliance of Company, OSHA and DOT requirements
  • Maintains the licensing of company equipment
  • Model company core values

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with tanker and flatbed dispatching
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal Department of Transportation regulations
  • Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and/or function within a team in a friendly professional manner
  • Detail oriented for accurate completion of paperwork
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to accomplish work through others
  • Ability to coordinate with other business units to include sales, manufacturing, resources accounting and truck shop in order to complete tasks and projects
  • Strong self-motivation and organization skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Proficient at MS office products, including Excel and Word
  • Must be able to work afternoon and night hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) or more years of dispatch related experience
