Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

\n

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
\n• 36 guaranteed hours per week
\n• 13-week assignment length
\n• 2+ years of Pediatric Critical Care experience required
\n• Two years of management of pediatric critical care patients in high acuity setting required
\n• Required certifications: PALS, BLS
\n• Active Texas RN license required (temporary license will NOT be accepted)
\n• Care for critically ill pediatric patients with various disease processes including respiratory illnesses, sepsis, and DKA
\n• Manage patients with pressure lines (CVPs, arterial lines, some UAC/UVC)
\n• Work with ventilated patients using HFOV, VDR, Servo equipment
\n• Administer critical care drips including epinephrine, nor-epinephrine, milrinone, dopamine, precedex
\n• Care for complex trauma patients with EVDs, Codmans, requiring neuro assessments
\n• Manage complex pediatric postoperative patients with congenital anomalies, craniofacial procedures, tracheostomies
\n• Perform procedures including Foley insertions, trans-pyloric feeding tubes, dressing changes, port access
\n• Documentation system: Meditech
\n• Floating policy: As needed to NICU, CHSU, general pediatrics and peds hem/onc units (travelers float first)
\n• Dress code: Blue scrubs required, no artificial nails, neat and clean hair pulled back if shoulder length or longer, tattoos covered when possible, visible piercings other than ears prohibited
\n• Weekend and call requirements to be discussed during interview
