The Undercarriage Specialist is responsible for the inspection and repairs of the undercarriage of the heavy equipment. The Undercarriage Specialist will clean, inspect and use specific tooling to remove, repair and install hardware, track links, idlers, recoil assemblies and other track components. The Undercarriage Specialist will also be responsible to write service reports upon completion of jobs.

• Pressure wash undercarriage
• Secure machine off the ground to complete undercarriage
• Remove and install rail assemblies on machine
• Remove, clean, reseal and install track adjusters
• Operate track wrench to remove and install hardware
• Operate track press to disassemble and assemble track links
• Perform pin & bushing turns on rails
• Remove & install idlers, rock guards, bottom rollers, carrier rollers and recoil assemblies
• Clean & grind shoes and rails for pad swap

• Write service reports once jobs are completed
• Keep work area clean throughout process
• Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner
• Additional duties as assigned by manager

To be successful in this position, you should be task-orientated, thrive on routine, and have a mechanical aptitude. You will need basic computer skills and the ability to write clear, concise work orders. Working safely should be your priority while remaining organized and problem solving. The ability to read and follow service material instructions and quotes is also essential to this position.

• High school or equivalent

• Prior experience in a shop setting (auto/truck/heavy equipment/rental)
• Read and follow service material instructions or quotes
• Basic computer skills (email, internet, basic data entry)
• Work safely with caustic chemicals/materials
• Occasional heavy lifting up to 100 lbs
• Able to operate machinery and forklift

• Prior experience as heavy equipment technician
